I like it, but I agree more square, with a maybe slight curve(quarter sized maybe) at the end

I wouldn't weld it, I would find another fender and do it squared...
the if you have the notion for something different simply swap 'em out.

Or you could sell the current one, to help recover funds for the new one

I like what you did amigo, but to be honest..IMO I think HarleyD kinda got us on the rocker...put a beautiful bike on the market to answer all of us who asked for the big tire in the rear then to kick us in the nutz with the rear fender/gap in seat to fender.... Its a crime in my eyes. Now when you "heartland kit" your rocker it becomes 1 bad *** one off and really pulls the lines of the bike all together, coarse the price for admission to that party will cost you in the 3-4k area...yikes! ...kinda the same ay HarleyD gave me my beautiful 07 deuce, same problem, they put a beautiful bike together till you get to the rear fender and Jamacian style steel drum rear wheel.

CRIME I SAY!!!

but i like your fender mang

I agree what a damn shame that HD cant come up with a mod to help a brother out with out paying 2k for a rear fender upgrade. its almost seems they set it up that way to create third party company's to finish the job
