Default Metzler's or Dunlop tires?

I"m just about ready for new tires on both my Deluxe and Sportster and I'm wondering what the forum would do? I've been told the Metzler's will last as much as 15K miles but may be too soft? I have the Dunlops now and I like them, but they just don't last long enough. Are the Metzler's worth it?

If you don't think Dunlops last long enough, definetaly don't buy Metzlers. Got about 6k out of mine seemed like. Maybe I got a bad batch.

Metzlers will last shorter but grip better. i have Metzlers on the front and get about 15000 on them and i have dunlop on the back and get 9000 on them. i had metzler on the back but only got 4700 on them. the next tire change i will try the new dunlop MT on the rear

Metzlers are much better than Dunlops, but as others pointed out, will not last as long. To me, the tradeoff is worth it. Another one you might consider is the Michellin. I have a set of them on my Springer and they handle great and seem to be lasting pretty well, too.

I replaced my rear tire with a stock Dunlop, because it gets the best miles before needing replacement. As far as grip goes, I never have had my bike slide out because of having Dunlops.
