The Dunlop OEM that came on the front started cupping very early and did not track as good as I would have liked. Since putting the Metzeler on the front I notice a real difference in cornering and tracking. The Dunlop OEM rear did not last as long as I would have liked (4,000 miles), so I replaced it with the Dunlop Elite 3. I have almost 4,000 miles on it and it is not showing near the wear the Dunlop OEM tire was showing.
+1 on the Dunlop Elite 3 on the rear, I did the same and like it much better.

Anyone tried the new Pirelli Night Dragons? http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...Rear-Tire.aspx They're listed as a "performance" tires so I'm skeptical that they will last very long.

I'm starting to think that this may be the best choice. Put a sticky tire on the front and the lasting tire on the back.

For the Sporty, Metz all the way. Far superior mileage and performance. I can't comment about how they do on the heavier Softail.

Sorry, I'll slip back into the Sporty section of the forum....

I've got Metzelers on my Sportster. They seem to be wearing faster than the stock Dunlops but they give a more performance enhancing ride. Got the stock Dunlops on the Deluxe and have had no problems and they seem to be wearing just fine.

May I ask what kind of riding your guys do? I assume you ride highway more than city. My friend got a set of Metzler 880, hwy/city 50/50, the tires last close to 20,000miles, he rides hard too.
