More stick with the Metzlers but no way they will last as long as your stock Dunlops

think about it. a soft tire will wear out faster!!!!! the 15k may be on the front. but the lops are going 20k on the front easy;

I just put the 3rd lop on the rear, about 10-11k is it..
I read later that the Metzs are now made in another country and the quality is gone, they are having trouble with the tread seperating.

If the size is not a problem the lops tour Elite 3's IMO is the better wearing tire now but its definitely more $$$..

I tried both, (Dunlop HD tires and ME880), from a previous sport bike rider who likes to lean and lean I do.. the grip is not that different, I did hear all about the 'better grip' but never really felt it, I changed the tires mid-life so I am guessing those who have a 'worn' tire that is 'flattish' may feel the new tire better anyways.

One thing to note is the Metzs are significantly smaller (in width) than the dunlop's.. a Dunlop 150 rear will be just as wide as a Metz 160 rear (I couldn't believe it until I went to the charts of both manfucturers and saw it with my own eyes on the street).

Either way.. have fun

I have a Dunlop Elite 3 240/40VR-18 on the rear and a Metzeler ME 880 100/90H-19 on the front.

The Dunlop OEM that came on the front started cupping very early and did not track as good as I would have liked. Since putting the Metzeler on the front I notice a real difference in cornering and tracking. The Dunlop OEM rear did not last as long as I would have liked (4,000 miles), so I replaced it with the Dunlop Elite 3. I have almost 4,000 miles on it and it is not showing near the wear the Dunlop OEM tire was showing.

+1 on the Avon's. I've had really good luck with them -- nice and sticky.

Metz all the way. Does everything far better than the Dunlops other than last. If you do any rain riding you'll be very happy with the additional grip the Metzelers offer.
