Default '09 pipes on '05? Supertrapp SuperMeg's

Hello, have a chance to get a smokin deal on a Supertrap 2-1 setup that came off an '09 NT. Will these fit my '05 (carbed) NT? I have a set of VH shortshots and they suck. Thanks.

Do it. All you need is a set of plugs for the 02 bungs. Bout $12.00 at any decent parts house.

What else is on the bike? Cams? AC?

Is your 05 an EFI model?

If so do you have a fuel management system of some type in place or just a stage 1 download or nothing at all?

Do the 2-1 if you want a little midrange power boost. I went from shortshots, to big shot staggereds to a Rinehart 2-1 and I'm pleased with the sound and the performance gains. The S-Trapp is a great pipe. Get It!!

This is a Dyno run of my bike showing the Rinehart 2-1 Vs' the Big shot staggereds. My bike is tuned with Techno research direct link and both pipes were tuned to the bike. Which pipe do you think makes for a better running scoot around town and doing routine riding.....

My bike is carb'd. It had the Stage 1 upgrade from new. I changed to the VH shortshots (no baffles) a few years ago back when I thought the louder the better, now I can't stand riding it around town; it sounds shitty and has poor bottom end. The power loss was significant even with the baffles in. I just want something that performs as well as it can, I'm not really worried about impressing people by cracking the throttle when I go by them on the street like half the harley idiots out there. BTW, they are the Supertrapp SuperMeg's for $400 and have never been run. Up here in Canada these pipes are $7-800 so I think I will grab them.

Buy them. Here is an interesting dyno run sheet for ya'

So I wanted to see what my set of unbaffled shorts were doing on my 95" 211 cammed EFI train.

The results were suprising....These are runs done on a generic Harley remap prior to actually tuning the bike.

We ran three scenarios.
Red Line is the unbaffled short shots.
Green Line is The Short Shots with Baffle
Blue line is a set of Big Shot staggereds with the power chamber and stock baffles.

See the big dip on the red line no baffle short shot off idle? The derned bike was gutless and ran like a 2 stroke dirtbike.....

With the baffles installed (Green Line) the bike simply went dead flat at 3500 and the TQ dropped like a rock at 3250. Big problem with those pipes on my build. The short shots at my altitude choked the motor with my build and the lack of a stepped pipe and were essentially shiny garbage.

Threw on a set of Big shot staggereds (Blue Line) and the bike slowly starting to come to life made better power everywhere as seen on the graph and once tuned made 93HP and 104TQ. Not bad at 6100 above sea-level!!! But as you can see in the dyno run I posted earlier today? Even the Big shots give up ridable midrange power to a 2-1 and the S-Trapp is probably a better performing pipe then the Rinehart which still has an emphasis on looks and sound Vs' sheer performance.

$400? Why are you still here Bro...Get your moolah and go git them pipes!!

UPDATE: Installed the supertrapp and couldn't be happier. It's quiet, but holy hell did it wake up the bottom and mid-range of my bike. Will recommend these pipes to anyone.

Experiment around with the discs.

How many do you installed now?

What other mods on yer bike?

I went with a Rinehart as I did need a little "Bark" with my "Bite". Buddy has an S-Trapp its louder than you think. Have your buddy ride it up the street and you will see its just quiet to you. S-Trapps are a dereper sound that you cant hear good on the bike.

Then again you wanted to avoid falling into the "Idiot" noise trap right
