Default Does Oil Type Matter

I understand the different viscosities, my question is between the different brands of oil. Of course my Harley manual says that I should buy HD oil. Is there a difference between the HD oil and the common oils for cars (Penzoil, Valvaline...etc)

What about sythetics?

No, but most people will say that this subject is "BEAT TO DEATH!!". If you do a search, you can find thousands of posts on this subject.

Hey man, welcome to the forum first of all. There is a forum directly for oil related questions...Navigate over to:
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/oil-a...ted-topics-30/

and you will find all the information that you will need. There you will see the poll of what people use and how most do not use the HD specific oil, but you can gather information and make your decision on the benefits of synthetics.
