Rotors

You noticed braking got worse after adding the rotors? I would swap out the rotor with the stock one again without touching anything else just to be sure before spending any more green. Your prob may be something else. Hey just curious... why the mention of running a full bottle of DOT 5?
I'm also not crazy about speedbleeders. Heard something about some not sealing quite right. What brand are using? Speedbleeder, Russell? If the type you are using required sealant on the thread, throw them in the trash.

I've been using Speedbleeders for 20+ years on cars, trucks, and motorcycles....never had a problem with them.
The Eastern rotors are pretty, but they're cheap. I'm not a metallurgist, but I'd suspect they're an inferior quality product (I think they were $40 each), and I know that the polished surface doesn't help the coefficient of friction at all. If you look at the H-D floating rotors, the contact area isn't shiny (and oddly, neither are the bolts), so there's not an issue.
I will say that the Lyndall pads were a vast improvement over the cheapies I bought with the rotors, but they're still not as good as the stock brakes.

OK cool, please follow up here after the changes.
Yes, it's the rotors, everything else has been replaced. I mentioned the full bottle of DOT 5 to make sure everyone understands that there's not an issue of the brakes not being bled well.

I'm running the Harley Vivid Black floaters on my '03 FLHTPI, the black centers bring out the black wheel spokes and add a little bling to the forks. I'm planning to use one on the rear of my '81 fx that I've retrofitted a Softail brake on. For the money I don't see any thing coming close.
