The conclusion. The dealer said it was that the upper steering bearing were loose. They tightened them, and it did nothing. My buddy rode the bike and told me that it was my loud exhaust resonating against the frame. I lucked out and he had his stock pies from his 07, Heritage. We changed it out last night... BINGO that did it. Watch out for the Python exhaust. For now I'm going to keep the stock pipes on. I never had any problems with V&H or Rinehart. Maybe in the future I'll just go with slip on mufflers.

So did the dealer charge you for the steering head adjustment since it's a scheduled service item. Or did you have the regular service done by them?

That conclusion was very interesting.
You just never know for sure until you do it.
I am a big fan of slip ons.

Yes, very interesting indeed. I have 18K miles on my 05 Heritage and considered it vibration free until about 2000 miles ago. Now I can feel it in the footboards and if I lay my foot against the engine guard. Minor but irritating. I'll have to check all my connections this weekend.

Update on my vibes. So much talk about exhaust I decided to start there. I had removed my pipes from the jugs to istall my cruise control. I checked the flanges nuts which weren't excessively loose, but not up to torque spec. Tightened them and most if not all vibration is gone.

It's Baaaaack. I'm at about 19,500 miles and the vibration, more a buzz than anything is back with a vengeance. If it had done this from the beginning I wouldn't give it a thought because its not that bad! I also did the throttle down, clutch in, routine and as previously posted the vibration is gone. If I put my hand on the engine anywhere, I don't feel any vibes. I guess I'll check the exhaust again. I have Screamin Eagle II pipes by the way. Dealer installed at original sale.

Check to make sure your exhaust isn't touching the frame. That would cause you to feel a vibration.
