Ignition systems on a 96 TC?
I have 2007 Night Train and am looking at a few upgrades.
One thing I saw on the H-D site was a S.E. Street Legal Igntion System for the TC. It does not list model years or any real info.
I was woundering if this was an option the newer EFI bikes. Would it be a waste and chip/PCIII/V/Tuning device be better? Could they work together?
I plan to keep my engine stock, but do a few mods to help performance. I was looking at plugs, wires, exhaust, and intake (along with fuel management).
I found little info on this.
Thanks.

See, I was looking at points (older 88 bikes), plugs, wires and other things that seemed to build some power and work better. So on the newer bikes its a waste to use better spark plugs and wires?
Up to like 1995 bikes, using the SE Street Legal Ignition System, SE spark plugs (stock spec), and 8MM or 10MM wires seemed to have helped on stock engines with 'stage 1' for less heat and more power.
Even read about going from a 46MM Throttel Body to a 48MM TB helping, but that 50MM and up did nothing for stock engines.
I just dont plan at this time to mess with the engine.

you can find good information here about engine mods. modern ignition would not gain from wire and sparkplug
