I don't get antcy until it starts to spit and sputter (around 150-160), then I flip it around to reserve and stop at the next station.

7gallon tanks on my 98 fatboy BUT I fill every 200 miles don't like to let it get too low takes about 5+ depending how hard I push it.

I'm good 'til around 165/170, then I fill it up. Removed my gas gauge a long time ago and just track the milage. Usually have around half a tank left when I fill up.

I like your idea, I've been trying to figure out where to put a cup holder for the morning coffee!

07 Fatboy here and I usually start looking for a station after 175 miles. I've run it a couple of times with the light on and have found it to be fairly accurate. I think the most I have driven on the light was about 35 miles so right around 200 before filling.

I thought I was the only one that gits all weird when the fuel gets low.

I literally start riding kinda frantic and different looking for a station. Literally burning way fuel out of fear that will run out. Frantic at the stoplights...Generally cursing a little.

My bike drinks the stuff.

120 around town and the light is on. 140 Hwy and I'm frantic.

The guys who are getting 48 MPG....Must be nice Mang!!

I have had several bikes in the stable over the past several years, and I found that a Softail (pre 2006) with the 5 gallon tank will get about 175 before looking for fuel.

Ultra (2006) was very close to the same

2008 Ultra has the best milage I have ever gotten. Stock, its getting 52+ mpg on the freeway with cruise set. I don't even think about fuelingup till it hits 190, and I have gone as far as 225 and STILL have never put in more than 5.2 gallons
