I feel that the only way the dealer is responsible is that they are installing a kit that they approve and support. If they are installing something in the shop then they need to stand behind whatever follows be that good or bad.
Were I the dealer, I would not be using this kit after an issue like this. They do need to take responsibility for what they installed.
