Well down in South Carolina my Fat Boy ran 250 for the first 1000 miles (down the highway) then i put amsoil in all holes, now it runs at about 230 with out a cooler. but it hasn't been as hot this year. I will be getting the jags cooler with the thermostat adapter.

I havent done the oil cooler yet but plan on it. I saw some kind of fan thing that blows on the oil cooler in these forums and assume that would help in traffic...or you can just chance it and take the shoulder :-)

Yeah. It's on my wish list. Probably won't get it in time for this summer but it'll be on there for the next one. I'll probably just go with a 6 row vertical Jagg Slimline. I've already got a very good fuel management device (TTS) and I haven't seen it above 240 in the tank yet.

You can get a good price ordering through M and M Cycles/Drag Specialties.

I recommend Jag coolers. I run twin Jag coolers on mine and it doesn't get above 220 on the interstate.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll go with the Jag. The Harley cooler looks good to but I don't like the placement in front of the front cylinder blocking airflow.

The HD oil coolers are actually made by Jagg. The one that mounts neatly between the uprights actually works excellent, doesnt hinder air flow one bit. Actually keeps the bike streamlined looking. I used to have one mounted off to the side on the outside of the uprights, but there was absolutely no difference in cooling performance whatsoever.

My fan kit will keep your motor cool in traffic. The fans are water and dust proof and move alot of air. Right now I'm having a Sturgis sale , 15% off.
