Default Bike is getting HOT

Im looking for some help....I have an 06 Softail Deluxe with V&H Longshots and a K&N airfilter. While riding the bike heats up and at times has shut down, the dealer has no been able to duplicate and stated the bike is with-in normal limits. Friends have told me to buy a Dyno Jet USB III. any ideas..??

Definitely need to get yourself some sort of fuel management. Bike runs lean from factory + Pipes + Intake = very lean or very hot. Your dealer should have suggested this to you.

That is your main problem, you might also switch to synthetic oil if you haven't already.

Definately running lean, you either need a remap or some other type of fuel management system.

If you don't plan on any future upgrades to the engine you might want to have the dealer install a Stage 1 MAP.
Its not perfect by a long shot but at least it will get the engine back down to a near stock heat condition instead of dangerously lean.

But the best way is to do a little research looking around here on fuel management systems and how they work to see what others have done to address the problem.

Oil cooler and one of my fan kits will also help alot in keeping the motor cool.
