Default What Pipes for my 07 Softail???

Looking at an exhaust for my stock engine 2007 black denim Night Train.

Starting to lean to the 2 into 1's.

I really like the Rinehart's for sound, and looks. But the V&H's seem good too.

At first I wanted the Rinehart Cross Backs in black, as its a nice mix of chrome and black. Then I thought an all black 2 into 1's look good, but might be to dark of a theme.

Looking at the V&H (found little on their site):

Big Radius 2-1 (looks o.k., I like the Rine 2-1 better)
Comp (know little of this pipe, seems more a sport bike pipe)
Pro Pipe (seems o.k., IIRC comes in chrome only)
Pro Pipe Hi output (like it, but would it work on a stock motor well, IIRC it comes in black only)

For Rinehart;

Black or chrome 2-1 (both look good, and have a good sound)
Black cross backs (like the sound)

I like the V&H product, Ive never had a problem with them. Once the heat shields fell off of my big radius and they send me new heat shields. The pipes were 4 years old at the time.

P.S. hit enter before I was ready...

How do most think the different V&H are power wise and sound wise?

I would try to hear them, but I am in Iraq and want to plan it out now as best I can.

Looks, sound, and power are what I want...

Thanks for any help.

Thanks. Last time I got back from a depoyment to Iraq a bunch of guys and me all picked up Harleys. Most of us are deployed again. Our Harleys keep us sane...that and knowing that people support us back home.

I do like your choice of pipes you are thinking about, but as you seem to favour the black and chrome look my personnel favourite is the RSD 2 into 1 by V&H it looks awesome on a Nightrain but just my opinion

On a personal note- Thank you for what you're doing to defend this country. As far as your exhaust question goes- If you're looking for a good 2-1, I'd recommed the D&D FatCat in black. GREAT pipe, and will be even better once you tear into your motor. You may not have any plans now, but down the road, you'll probably change your mind.

Dam you!!! D&D Low Cat seems great. I knew D&D from sport bikes. I now know they make Harley pipes are from Texas too. I do have Texas loyalty...

I guess I need to add them to the list now. How is the sound and power on the D&D's. I heard a sound clip, seems good. Rineharts just have a sound thats so sweet at idle. I have listened to a number of pipes and Rineharts always get my attention when I hear them. Dealer had a loaded Night Train with Rineharts and I almost bought it just for the sound, but I was to poor at the time.

I have the black Riney 2-1 on my Train and love it. Won't probably give you as much performance wise at the FatCat but I think cosmetically it looks better. It definitely sounds cool and has a great fit and finish. Even better if you don't have to put it on yourself because it's tight. Huge increase in midrange pull.
