I was told recently that you dont have to change anything, just have to remove the belt guard....I'm looking into it too, if I can do it with out changing the rear fender I will be!
Real good chance your not going to get that tire under that fender.Just measuer it.You'll need around 8.5-9.0 inches for a 180.180 tires run around 7.25-8' wide depending on the brand.Avon 180 is a little narrower than the metzeler. Also take into accont bolts or wiring under the fender.I have a metzeler 180 under a 9" strutless rear fender and there's not much room left up there.Everything else is stock.Pulley, rotor, caliper, belt.Take your fender off and measure. That's what I did and saved $$$ instead of buying a kit.But if you want a kit, D&M customs has a cool one for fatboys.
I have a 150 on mine and it is pretty tight. I actually had to gring the heads down on the bolts that hold my bags on. I can imagine that a 180 would fit on stock without getting the kit.
doesn't the 06 soft tail come with a 200 tire? couldn't you use parts off the soft tail standard, fender etc? i don't really know if this is an option just asking a question.

06 softails with 200 rear tire use a different frame and swing arm than the other softtail models.
