Can anyone diagnose this?

hey guys and gals,, my first post...
did you find the problem? if not..
check to see if your drive belt is making the racket.. I had two bikes this week making a lot of noise.. mainly under a load..
spray some dry silicon on the belt just to see if it stops.. a loose belt or it being cockeyed will do it.. if you don't have silicon
try some soap and water on it for a temp fix until it dries off. either way if it's it you'll have to adjust it. I hope that helps..

Hopefully this annoying noise wont come back and haunt me!

Nope.
Everything is tight as **** and if was a head gasket, I would think it would make a noise at idle.
It only makes the noise at speeds above 35 mph. and when the oil temp is around 190*, and on hot days.
I know! WTF right???
Again, the noise comes from the lower left side of the bike behind you. Like the wheel baring or pulley.
Since I'ts been fairly cold out these days, no noise.

It sounds like your belt. Mine did the same thing. It would only do this though when it was 80 + degrees out side and i have been riding for about 20 minutes. Look at your pulley is the belt off to one side of it? Jack up the rear end and clean the belt real good with soap and water, then use silicone belt spray. You can also get a shim for behind the pulley to correct it.

yes that belt will do that too.. if you ride in the rain it can make it worst or better too. .. if you've had a belt or tire replaced and then you got the noise, you now know what it is
