Default Sidekick Seat? What is this?

The seller of this seat says this is a HD Sidekick Seat and fits 00-05 Softails. If it fits 05 softails it should fit my 06? The thing is, it does not have the metal tab in the back of the seat to mount to the rear fender. I dont see the metal tab on the front of the seat that slides near the tank to hold it in place either. Any ideas what this will fit or what seat it is?

I would imagine someone took the metal pieces off and put them on another seat. I have a sidekick seat that I used for a while. It has the flames stitched on it and the rear passenger portion is a bit more rounded. Mine has the metal pieces on the back and front. I would also imagine that it would fit an 06 as most softail parts are 2000-2006. It could be the seller does not know anything about bikes.

So can the front and rear metal pieces be removed - unscrew off? In the pic showing the bottom of the seat, their is a small L bracket bolted to the seat about 4"-5" from the center front of the seat?

That L bracket is funky. Its almost as if its a seat off a custom build or may simply be missing the tab as Goodies pointed out.

Either way the L bracket or whatever that is has absoltely nothing nothing to lock into on your bike.

I would hafta pass. That seat aint gonna mount up on your Softy without some fab work!

The metal pieces are under the felt on mine, and I am not going to tear into. I don't know what to tell you.

Thanks everyone. Not sounding too promising... The price is right and it seems to be new as advertised. If it wont mount its no good to me...
