Another thing you can do if you are worried about if the reflector is alright for HID is buy the dual beam halogen setup from Harley, it is made by JW speaker and it looks identical and I think it is the same part number from HArley,to Harleys HID setup, which is Dot approved, then install your aftermarket HID H11 bulb for low beam and use the existing H8 for high beam, Then if you are worried about the law they wont know that it is not the true HID setup from Harley, Todd

KS...I'm not frustrated, just wondering why you don't get it?
How much clearer can I make it...It's IMPOSSIBLE for a conversion kit to project the proper beam pattern when it's placed inside a housing THAT WASN'T DESIGNED FOR IT.
You can't re-write physics just because you want it to be true.

Küryakyn has the H.I.D. bulb and H.I.D. housing.... The 5 inch version doesn't look like it has the projector housing but I imagine it's setup to direct the beam properly. On top of that it's the complete kit which equals Big Bucks. Anyway here's the idea. "Projector Lens" HID's look real cool but I think the projector housings look ugly on bikes. IMHO.. Anyway the 5 3/4 version

The HID conversion lights up the road better and that's what I wanted. I have used aftermarket and OEM HID kits since 1999, so I have done a fare share of installs on cars, trucks and motorcycles.
If you don't want to install a kit on your bike that's your problem, stick to your dim yellow lights.

The shield over the bulb moves, changing the beam pattern to create the high beam function. You can use double sided tape and it will hold it fine, but if you don't feel comfortable just make a small L-bracket to help support it.

How much difference would there be in using a HID kit vs something like this?:
