Windshield advice for fatboy
2002 fatboy
need to replace windshield(due to a deer run in)
added lightbar-nostalgia so it is thicker at the top
would like to have quick detach shield--do not particularly like the kingsize nostalgia shield 57141-05
any idea what windshield would fit the wider quick detach that is there to accomadate the nostalgia lightbar

I replaced mine with the Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing. They have apps for all kinds, including the road king nacelle and light bar. There is a nice thread on here about em:

Cutting the windshield is easy. I cut 3" off the low version of a detachable FB shield. Make a template with flexible art board/paper. Tape it against the windshield and trace the upper outline of the shield on the template. Cut the template along that line and tape to windshield at desired height. Sit on bike looking over the template taped to the windshield and adjust template height to your preference. Most say its best to look over the top edge and I agree. I used heavy art board and made my own contour...sort of low and flat across the top like the Road King low shield. I kept the shoulders of the shield wide to get the protection at chest level.
Tape the template to the shield where you want it and mark the glass with med. bold marker. I used masking tape over the marker line/cut area to prevent scratching the shield. Take a standard jig saw with a new blade and cut away. Get the correct blade to cut 'fine' materials. When done cutting, sand edge to desired contour with fine paper and your done. The saw blade should not leave a edge rough...this material sort of feathers off the blade when its cut.
