Default which fuel management and intake?

Just bought an 09 Fat Boy.

I'm going to be adding Vance & Hines bigshots staggered
and I was wondering if someone could suggest the best combination
of high performance intake and fuel management system to get the most bang
for my buck.

My previous ride had the SE Pro high performance air cleaner/breather,
and a PCIII

Can I do better than this?
Do I HAVE to get the Harley download before I can add another fuel management system?

Thanks!

I have the PC III and a custom map no complaints here, although they now have the PC V out not sure what the differences are though. I do know that you can download maps with the rev extender on them to open her up a little more.

Yep I have the PCIII with V&H Big Radius and a Kuryakyn Hypercharger, goes great and very smooth through the rev range.

BSS, PCIII and Super Sport AC on my 08 Fatty. If you go with the PCV, I sure hope it is smaller than the III. Either that or bring a high dose of patience trying to get it under the seat.

I don't know about any other FM system but you can skip the download with the TTS, and most likely skip it with the SERT or SEST.

Dude, what map did you use with the PCIII?

Assuming BSS, PCIII, and SE Pro AC, there was not a single map in their database even close.

Think a map for an 08 would be the same still?

If you buy it from Fuel Moto (http://www.fuelmotousa.com/), just tell them what components you are using and they will custom map it for you. Mine was plug and play. Works great!

If you can afford it, get a Thundermax with auto tune. If funds do not allow it, a PC V.
K&N is a good choice for AC.

If you change the pipes only or AC only, no dealer download needed. If you change both at same time, dealer download or Thundermax or PC V or...

If it were me and you could only afford so much. The biggest bang for the buck is BSS, a high flow AC, a set of bolt in Cams ( like Andrews 26, SE 203's...) and a PC V. To install cams in your year of bike is not that difficult and you will notice a huge diff as compared to only the AC, BSS and PC V.

I've thought about that. How much would it cost to do the cams do you think? Just ballpark of course, assuming a good mechanic charging 50/hr for labor.

Also, is cams a job I dare try to tackle myself? I'm pretty handy with a wrench, but so far I've only done things that
bolted to the outside of the bike. Never cracked it open.
