scooter34, do yourself a favor: go to an RV store or walmart rv dept and buy a bottle of protect-all. it has it all and does it all. works on all surfaces, has uv protection, easy off and on and it lasts. you can buy it in the aerosol can which is even easier to use. i have used this stuff on all my toys for many years. no better stuff out there

I have been using Zaino car wax for many years.
I mix 60% Zaino Z-2 wax, and 40% water in a spray bottle, with two microfiber towels: one to apply and a dry one to wipe/buff with. I use it on everything: tins and chrome. it cleans the bugs and road grime, AND puts an incredible shine on the chrome.

I've been having really good luck lately with using the Harley swirl remover on those little white towelettes they see, followed by harley glaze on another white towellette, with Harley gloss as a finisher using a very clean microfiber Harley towell.
I ran out of my 3 step McGuires and grabbed the Harley stuff on a whim....
White towellettes just dampened on the powdercoated surfaces, Black out engine restorer on the motor, Kiwi shoe polish on my solo bag, tool bag and fender bib, Mothers chrome polish on me chrome, any thiock greasy tire shine stuff applied on my tires with a foam paint brush, windex and paper towells on my exhuast.
I'm currently sold on the 3 step Harley process. Glassy, slippery, shiny goodness!
And its cheap.

Spray a mist of S-100 all over bike. Hose off thoroughly. Ride really fast. Towel off any remaining splashes. Here's the key: Have it detailed once per year at the dealership. It'll look like new. Ride it for another year. Spray a mist of S-100 all over bike. Hose off thoroughly. Repeat as needed. Revisit dealer. Ride. Repeat...
It's why I bought a Night Train. Screw breaking my back and giving up valuable riding time. Got caught in a downpour coming back from Atlantic City on Saturday. Muddy, filthy, sandy, ugly; bad motorcycle...bad. Guess what? 10 minutes on Sunday morning and its a showroom model again.
