Tom here. I hate to say it, but you need the floorboard extensions. A deeper seat with more of a stop for the small of your back would really help from the sound of it as well.

Have you got any pics of floor boards without & then with the floor board extensions? Curious how these would help but their fairly inexpensive enough to give them a try...

Default Wear the right clothes as well.....

My usual evening rides are almost always 180+ miles....and on weekends 350+ miles are the norm.

I've found it's not "just" the seat choice that makes all the difference. What you wear is as important, if not more.

The worst offender is wearing Levi 501's with tighty whities. Seams are the enemy!!

The most comfortable combo I have found so far is wearing Wrangler loose fit carpenter jeans and white cotton boxers. The Wrangler jeans have very slight seams on the back pockets, almost not there at all. The cotton boxers are absorbent, have no seams, and breathe. The combination of loose jeans, slight seams, good airflow and absorbent cotton boxers is the best I've found so far.

Add to that the Mustang Wide Solo with backrest and I'm good. Also, even properly equipped, take frequent breaks to stretch your legs and back.

While I'm waiting to send my seat to Mean City Cycles I went ahead & ordered the floorboard extensions. I figure they can only help....
