Default Deluxe - fender bib with luggage rack?

I have an 07 FLSTN. I hate the look of the passeger seat and will never use it so wanted to remove it and put a leather bib on. However, I wondering if I could keep the luggage rack - has anyone done this? I am not sure that it will look right. I also have the Deluxe leather saddlebags and am not sure that a bare back fender will look right with the bags. Any comments or pics to help me decide?
Thanks
Dianne

I run my Springer 90% of the time solo with the bags and a fender bib... I like the looks of it Don't really care what others think

Hi, Tom from http://harleygoodies.com/ here. My opinion is to leave the rack on if you want to. It is your bike after all. It will look fine

Best regards,

Tom

I like the rack too and it was one of the harder things I had to decide on but I finally took it off for a better seat. The stock killed my lower back. I agree the rack does not look right with the back seat off. Leaves a big hole. I have seen guys put a solo rack on the back that slides in the same "nipples" as the quick release for the sissy bars. IMO this looks good.

But has far as running with bags and no back seat. I think it looks fine.

Bottom line and I am sure you have heard it before. Your bike, your taste, your choice.

That said it takes two minutes to take of your back seat and all the time you want to drink a beer and stare at it until you make up your mind.

Good luck

No rear seat and bags looks fine to me. I'd probably go with a solo rack or a bib. Not too crazy about the stock rack and no seat. I'd do the solo rack just in case you needed to strap something to it.

The passenger pillion came off within days of me getting my bike. Don't have a bib, but I'd like to get my pillion cut down to about 1.5" high, or get a pillion like JayDee5150. HogDeluxe makes a nice bib for our bikes, but I'd rather be naked in back, or with a short pillion.

lepera(barebones) has a nice looking low profile pillion for the back

I wonder if that is what JayDee has, I'll have to ask him. I know he has the Bare Bones seat, and it's the same one I'm planning on.

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I have now removed the pillion and will try it with just the rack alone for a few days before I decide whether to also remove the rack. If I add the fender bib will it fit the existing rack on or will it have to be modified?
