GEICO says that the deluxe is a touring bike!
Active duty military and I just moved back from overseas. I called GEICO to drop a Victory Kingpin off of storage insurance and to add the 08 Deluxe I picked up overseas. First they thought I was moving back to the Dallas area and quoted me almost $700 a year. I about passed out as I was paying 300 for the Kingpin.
After some questioning why it was so so high I was told that it was due HD having a higher theft and that the Deluxe was a touring model and touring models spend more time on the road then my kingpin would! WHAT!
I was under the impression that a bagger (touring bike) needed to have a factory installed bags and maybe a windshield. I could almost agree that the Heritage may fall under a touring bike but a Deluxe... you have got to be kidding me.
After some clarification that I was not moving back to Dallas but Southern Maryland my yearly premium went back down to $300.
So if you have any contacts or friends in the GEICO organization can you educate them on the the subtly differences of a cruiser and a touring bike!!! It kills me that a large company like this would not know the difference.
Or am I wrong and HD is classing the Deluxe as a touring bike cuz my backside sure knows the difference and the Deluxe is a far cry from a Road King.
What says you all?
