Default mags or spokes?

I was ready to replace my solid wheels with chrome mags.I was adviced to look into spoke wheels because of being less expensive.I always thought spokes needed to have a tube but recently found out thats not the case.I'm looking for suggestions or insights on spoked wheels.I really need to get rid of my solids and wanted to replace them within a cpl of weeks.Would appreciate any opinions or experience.thanks

My problem is i dont want the solids, even though i like the look.I'm interested in finding out about the spoke wheels i know they can be had 40,80 spoked etc.Dont know which is better than the other.I'm also looking at some tubles spoke rims from american wire.I'm trying to save as much $$$$ and be content with the decision. If mags are the better deal so be it.The mags i was contemplating were the mirror thunderstars but they are not cheap.

I had really never thought about this before reading some people's experiences on here. If you run a flat with a tube you won't be able to fix it on the side of the road vs. a tubeless tire. Just something to consider. I have spoke wheels and had them in the past as well but never experienced a flat with them. But if it does happen it sure would be nice to be able to quickly fix it and get on with the things. But I like the looks of spokes!

rick,i also have a fatboy i am in connecticut and it is pretty windy i found that solid wheels push me around more.my brother has a heritage and i can drive alot faster in windy conditions.well
i have done massive research on prices for spokes.I just purchased a set of fat 50 spoke wheels
from ride wright wheels and they are the cheapest i found.and they can powder coat what ever color you want.Mine are chrome with black spokes. They have not come yet so have no pics.but
there quality is suposed to great www.rwwheels.com give them a look they are priced good
$700 for all chrome and powder coat is a little extra depending on what you want .good luck
shopping.I cant wait for my new wheels.

it is 700 each.however i got real lucky i had gotten a quote a few months back for 675each and
they changed prices since, but they honored there original quote of 675ea. i thought that was
pretty cool. says alot about the company.I ordered them tuesday and she said they went out
that night. So i am going normal times of 5 to 7 buisness days.I had them shiped ground that was about 40 a rim but i am in connecticut.you can go 3 day if you want them bad enough!

p.s. the lady i talked to was sandy
