A couple of questions first:

Do you have Martin Brother pipes already?

If you do:

What Martin Brothers Pipes do you have?

The ones I have (Shockwaves) came with heat shields and I believe many of their pipes do. I agree with 57RebelRocker, contact Martin Brothers by e-mail.

If you haven't used the pipes yet you can coat the inside with Blue Shield.

I used it on my Santee LAF pipes three years ago and this is what they look like now. They will eventually blue but you can slow it down. I actually like the way it looks!
The bike must also be tuned correctley. Mines a little rich.

my shockwaves also came with heatshields, but are starting to discolor very quickly (more of a golden brown looking color than blue though). not sure if this is a result of an incorrect map on the power commander or what. the PCV came pre-mapped from fuel moto usa, but i'm wondering if i should get it dyno'ed to be more specific to my bike?? anyone have any ideas/comments/suggestions?

Are your heat shields discoloring or your pipes? I have about 2000 miles on my shockwaves, but I have the black ceramic with chrome heat shields.

both. the discoloration on the heat shield seems more evenly dispersed through the entire heat shields. the pipes really only have it in two areas: 1) the apex of the curve that comes up just below the oil tank, and 2) halfway between that apex and the end of the pipes, and both areas are mainly on the top side of the pipe. as i said, very quickly this started happening, and only about 500 miles have been put on since i installed the pipes.
