here's the one i made cost bout 5 bucks.

Looks good! I've been kicking around doing the same thing to my bike now that I've got the apes on there.

How much do you need to bend the brackets in? Got any detailed measurements?

yeah no need to bend at all. if you use a washer on the lower bolt and just tighten it up it will conform to the tank and frame. its really not that hard. the only suggestion i have for you is run the bike out of gas before doing it. i lost a gallon of gas that poured all over the engine and frame, but at lease its clean now.
