I personally like the V&H pipes. They have a better quality chroming process then most other manufacturers and the heat shield is full length. They have been around for a long time and have perfected the process for high performance pipes. They are of course more expensive than Samson and others but not as much as Reinhardt.
I've had V&H True Duals with Fish Tails on my stage 2 103 CID 2012 Heritage Classic since 2013.. The left side pipe going over the primary was getting way too hot. So in 2014, I removed the heat shield, wrapped the pipe with titanium exhaust wrap, and reinstalled the heat shield. Heat problem solved.
Wow, talk about bringing an old thread to life. I posted on this back in 2009. Still haven’t bought and installed the Bassani’s for my Heritage and doubtful I will. I like the ho/tq I’m getting now.
V&H Big shots on mine since 2001 and still great without a spot of rust. Deep sound and loud. I also installed S&S 509 geared cams for more low end. The power is wonderful.
