Exhaust Wrap

Exhaust Wrap
Hello. Just bought my Cross Bones and the one thing I noticed on some at the dealers is this DEI (I think) exhaust wrap on the pipes. Mine didn't come with it and I can't decide if it's something to get or leave the chrome showing. Looking for suggestions, thoughts; cool or not??? Here's a link to a new one with the wrap so you know what I'm looking at.
thanks.

I think wrap looks great. I didn't wrap my exhaust on my Cross Bones, but I did paint the heat shields. I used a high temp spray paint from an automotive store. It only cost me a few bucks and I think it looks killer. In fact, I had a few different people come up and ask me what exhaust I had on my Bones.
I love telling people I used spray paint on a $20,000 bike!
My point is this: You should do it so your bike is your own.

What is the worst that can happen? He has to buy a new exhaust? The stock exhaust cost a dollar on ebay and he will probably end up with something aftermarket anyway.
So yes, make the bike your own so your bike stands out a bit. Isn't that the point of owning a harley? Or is it to leave it in the garage and write on this forum like you probably do?

I like wrapped pipes...
not a big fan of the ones in the picture.... something just doesn't look right
maybe they just didn't go far enough.... not sure
what I would do with your stock exhaust is paint them Black.... and then wrap them to the muffler....
just my .02

I just wrapped mine and I think they look great. I've found that other people either love them or hate them; not much grey area. I've always loved the look and since it's my ride and I don't much care what anyone else thinks anyway I took the plung. Look up my posts and you'll find one addressing it (warning... use the bathroom first and have refreshments handy... my post was a bit wordy). You can look up posts by "Cowboy1" for a how to. I followed his advise and it worked out quite well. Someday when I run out of bike things to spend my money on I just might invest in a camera so I can post some pictures. I have an FXSTSI by the way, not a Xbones
