Yellow beast looks killer...love the apes and the BSS are the best exhaust for a Fatty. I would drop the @ss end down an inch or so and it would really make the bike look long and low with the exhaust choice.

You made the right choice...money aint everything. If it was, we would not be ridin Harleys. HD messed up the graphics on the new Fattys and while I like the wider rear tire, they screwed up the rear fender by chopping it off too much. The chopped rear fender totally screwed up the lines of the bike IMHO.

I have an 07 and love it. It a no brainer to me, the 200 tire and the 96 motor. Its not the first year for the 96 it was introduced in the 06 dyna. I also liked the 50 cal . wheels much better then the 06. I did the modifications myself and the stage 1, hooker troublemakers, max-flo and pc3, for $600. Get the 07.

This thread is not new. If you read through it you will see not only has he made his choice but he has already gone on a Modding Fest and his new Fatty is badass!!

Its a good read.

My 07 Softail doesn't get any hotter than my 95" 1999 EG. A good fuel management device negates the EPA mandated lean condition of a stock TC96.

My 07 doesn't have any gear whine over and above any of the other 8 Harley's I've had.

You will have a good ride with either of them IMHO but you will have improvements in the newer one you will likely want to do to the 06 eventually at some significant expense.
This is very misleading in itself. There may have been a few hundred changes, but to call them improvements is a joke. Many of the changes done were done with mfg. COST and EPA emissions in mind.

Edit: Didnt realize how old this post was, but the buyer made the right choice with the 06'. Smart move.
