im in the process of finishing the build on the bike, I bought those Hooker Fourbidden pipes 4 into 1 pipes, they look perty nice installed on the pipe but im concerned about cookin my leg to a med rare.

I did some searching thru forums and found a lot of different ideas out there:
Wrapping pipes is the way i was going to go ( Looks Cool ) eats pipes ?

I can create some some custom heat shields but will it worth time and $$ ? how effective are they ?

Or just suck it up an run the pipes as is, for those who have these already, how hot are they ?

Thx, im sure its not critical i can always pull these off later and deal with it, just seeing maybe if there is something i might be not seeing as a solution.

 

1st time I've seen these, don't personally like wrapped one's, but that's just me.
these pipes are definitely conversation pieces.

 

Forget the heat shields....

I don't personally own these, but have researched them a lot as they would look killer on a Cross Bones (my bike). I have read repeatedly they are pretty dang hot. Somone on here has a set they wrapped and i think it turned out to be my favorite exhaust.

If you wrap them you can consider them to be ruined so be sure that is something you want to do. However, I think they look sick like that so my vote is to wrap them.
