Default Adjust front fender on 05 FLSTFI

I want to lower my front fender to create a tighter / closer fit on my bike.

Looking at it it looks to me like I can just remove it and redrill holes 1/2 inch highter on the fender to lower it on the bike. Also how much clearance is needed between the fender and tire to be safe?

Has anyone done this ?

Thanks in advance for any feed back.

I slammed my heritage fender. I took the fender off the bike, cut the stock mounting brackets off just inside the fender, taped a 3/4 (approx) waterhose to the top of the tire to make some clearance, then got the fender in position, redrilled holes, done.

It's a little time consuming to get the fender straight and center, but it can be done. Check out the pics in my gallery, you can see how slammed it is.

Take the more expensive route and get a bigger wheel. Although, the dropped fender does look killer.
