Default Louder exhaust

Hey guys! I have an '09 NT and I want to make my stock exhaust louder for now. I already knocked out the 1" baffle plate, but is there anyway to get all of the baffle out of the stock tips? That would make it louder and deeper, correct? Also, if I do this I won't hurt anything not getting it tuned right?

Thanks a ton!

Wish I had an answer for you. I never played with the stock pipes, a guy from work has a new Dyna and trying to get him to do something, way to quiet with stock mufflers

you might be giving up performance for loudness... if you start tearing everything out of the pipes...slip ons is a quick and cheap fix for more loudness

A good set of Vance and Hines HS Straightshot slipons is a cheap way to get the right sound without hacking up your bike.

I don't mind giving up performance, I just want it loud! I have been looking into slip-ons, but I don't want to spend a couple hundred on them. For now I want to do this for free for now and then save my money for the pipes I really want.

Why not just buy a cheap set of used slip ons off E-Bhey or right here in the HDF classifieds??

Because the cheapest set I have found on here were over $150, and that is $150 more than it would cost to cut the baffles out myself. I read through the entire DIY thread and in there one person mentioned cutting out the entire baffle but there was no explantion of where to cut and how to do it.

Sounds like you've already punched the whole so there's no going back. You've done about all you can do to the stock pipes. Probably not going to be able to get the baffles out completely. You will lose performance without the baffles, so now you just have to wait until you can afford a proper fix and a set of slip ons. Just enjoy the bike until then.

I'll vouch for the V&H straighshots. They sound GREAT with the quiet baffles in they and really wake up the bike! Good luck!
