Default What tool did you use to tighten / untighten Adjusting Nut for Steering Head Bearing?

The steering head bearing adjustment was needed as the front end started to wobble a little. I only have 4K on the bike and I am assuming that HD dealer did not adjust as a part of 1K service, STEALER SHIP!!!!!

I tightened a "Adjusting Nut" a little and there is no more play / wobble. I had to make a flat metal bar and tap on it with my hand to rotate a little. A washer underneath STEM NUT was piece of junk, I have 07 Night Train. I am going to get a new and improved thicker washer from HD (Part # 45727-08).

Anyhow, where can I get a proper tool for "star like looking adjusting nut"?

1. Where to get it?
2. Name of the tool to ask?
3. Price if you remember?

Thanks,

Dan.

I use a blunt flat blade screw driver tapped with a small hammer for the fall away adjustment nut and a 1 1/2 inch socket and torque wrench to tighten the stem nut to 70-80 ft lbs as directed by hd. Also used the heavy washer you noted. Instructions state to torque the stem prior to adjusting fall away. Follow everything with a grease job.
