are you getting the Metzler Marathon ME880? I am going to replace my front tire next month. I want to get away from the dunlops 402s on it now.

Yep, going to go with the ME 880's: Front 140/70X18
Rear 150/70X18

If they are backordered, I'll go with the Avon's but Hogpro said they have them in stock.

Like you, I am trying to learn as well. From what i understand from others experience is that the Metzlers and Avons are softer than the Dunlops and therefore stick to the pavement better, thus improving handling. However, the softer compound could result in faster tire wear. I'll let you know after I get mine on. I'll post a review of the tires and the DNA Wheels.

my rear in a Dunlap 402 with only a 1000 miles on it. I will just have it swapped to the new wheel. My front has 11000 miles on it. It is still good, but I am going to replace it. It looks like it is getting some small dry-rot cracks in it.
My front wheel is back ordered until may 30th, so, I will have time for my local indy to order the tire. I may as well give him a little extra for the tire, or he charges more for mounting.

If he orders through Drag Specialties they are back ordered until approx. 7/17/09. You may have to find someone who already has some in stock.
