Default Where to purchase a starter?

After calling harley davidson and getting a price for a starter for a 91 flstc heritage softail, I think I'm going to go with an aftermarket starter. Price $319 + tax and a week wait. I found a few places on line for aftermarket starters that are half as much. I just need to know either the harley oem number or the denso number.

From what I'm seeing its harley oem 31553-90. Although that would tell me that oem number is off a 1990. Another thing its saying is that its
1/4 - 20 threaded hole in shaft, 12 volt, OSGR, CW, 1.2KW rating. Is that the KW rating I need?

If anyone knows anything different than what I put up here please inform me. I'll probably make an order today.

thanks

Thanks jaystronghawk although I couldnt find the item number for some reason. The place I was looking at buying from is here http://www.psep.biz/store/harley_dav....htm#AHSHD0003 its their item number AHSHD0003 and AHSHD0003-c at the bottom of the page but like I said I'm not sure if thats the exact part I need. This place has pretty good prices though.

I'm going to call harley and ask them what the oem number is and what KW is stock.

Just got off the phone with Harley and they said the oem number was 31553-90a, now whats the difference between the 31553-90 and the 90a other than the a? and from what i've been reading 1.2kw is stock ...harley couldnt tell me the kw on the starter, go figure.
