I have to say after reading the posts about removing the springs that I didn't remove the springs on my Heritage or my brother in law's Heritage when we changed the legs to chrome. I don't know why you had to remove yours but normally on the FL front end the legs can be taken off without taking out the springs. Just saying this so that others aren't scared off from making the change on their own. And cleanup and maintanance is easier with the chrome if you keep some polish on it as compared to the stock legs.

The springs didn't have to come all the way out. But you still had to separate the fork legs from the top tube, right? And push them in when you put them together? Anyway, the reassembly took more strength than what I have. I'm really happy with the work. I helped every step of the way. I was doing one side while my friend the mechanic was doing the other.
It was fun work. I feel confident enough that I could do this again but with a buddy to help.

Now... for the wheels...

It's just a luggage rack with the Baja T-Bag on it! I can't afford the real Tour-Pak!

I like the look of the Nacelle. Can you install a windshield with that?

Again, Looks great and thanks for the motivation.
I'm all for motivation! Last December, I posted a message here about my great find on eBay and I didn't have any problems "motivating" people to buy this chrome front end!!!! I counted 8 people that took advantage of it.
Have fun with your project!

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Had me confused there for a bit because I had read during my earlier research that it wasn't necessary to take the springs out. Thought I was having a senior moment
