Default Throttle Grips squeeks

I have aftermarket grips. The throttle grip squeeks a little when I turn it...any ideas what I can do to make it stop? can I oil it?

thanks

Mine does the exact same thing. I was thinking about puting a little grease in there to quiet it down.

How about adjusting the cable tension first? It's easy to adjust. I would carefully open the housing (remove 2 hex bolts) and adjust the tension of the cable... I suggested removing the housing so that you can actually see the cable with your eyes!!!

You don't need to open the housing to adjust the cable tension.

Adjust the tension and grease it. Mine started to squeak a while back. I put a litle dab of grease and it has not made the noise since.

ok cool will have to look into it.

sound wise it mainly sounds like just the grip rubbing against the housing but I will try both.

what is the best way to grease it?

I have the PM Contour grips and they squeaked, so when I took my bars apart before I put my grip back on I greased my right handle bar. So far so good.
