Default Handlebar Warranty

So i have an 09 Deluxe, and i want to install a set of WO509 Chubby 16" apes, for the install i was just going to cut and add resolder longer wires. Im guessing the warranty would be voided? Does anyone have any say on this? I mean i dont wanna spend 600 dollars to get an ape setup when i could do it just as well myself for less than half. Thanks guys

I see you have a tmax on your bike. Why would the a few splice wires be of concern?

That wouldn't void a warranty. Of course if you have switch issues after the install that won't be covered obviously. But, say if you're engine or tranny started leaking oil from one of the seals that would be covered. I did my own apes, and it worked out really good. I also sprung an oil leak afterward(unrelated) and my dealer fixed it under warranty. There's a TON of info and tips on doing the install yourself on this forum. So save your cash, man!

If your concerned about the warranty covering the wiring for the handlebars, yeah you're probably out of luck. Does it affect the rest of the warranty? No.

Cool yah thats what i figured, I wouldn't think anything would go wrong if done right. Just adding some length to the wires. Thanks for the thoughts guys

Any good tips on DIY with apes? I know its going to be time consuming and the obvious; wires the same gauge, heat shrink, time, bars, and new cables.
