I ordered the screaming eagle II's 1600's I like how the sounded and they were like 500$

 

I got the SEII's slash down's on my Deuce cause I like
the look of the shot gun exhaust. I find the other exhausts
open up the back end of the bike to much. Bought them
and put them on myself. Real easy install and sound great
when you blip the throttle.

If you just want the sound, you don't have to do the a/c
If you don't do the a/c you don't need to reprogram.

I had the SE2 slip-ons for a couple of months, and then I went to the SE2 Pipes.
Here's my observation:
1-No change in performance
2-The SE-2 Slip-ons are nice and loud, and they have a great low-end. The low-end is deeper than the SE-2 Pipes
3- The SE-2 pipes are a touch louder. They're not a deep in tone, but I like the sound better - full bodied growl... The SE-2 pipes look cooler IMO.

 

I would get the pipes now and then when you have a little more money come back with the air cleaner and race tuner. I think you will be happy with the V&H straight shots, they sound great. Buy on line and install them your self and you should get out the door for right at $400.

I HAD SLIP-ONS FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS AND I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE SOUND FOR THE COST. 2 YEARS AGO I BOUGHT A SET OF HOOKER LONG SHOTS. ONE OF THE BEST FEATURES ON THE HOOKER PIPES VS V&H IS THAT THE V&H PIPES ARE ACTUALLY 2 PIECES AND THE HOOKERS ARE ALL ONE WHICH GIVES A MUCH CLEANER LOOK AND WONT DISCOLOR AT THE SPLIT. ALSO THE HOOKER PIPES ARE CERAMIC COATED AND HAVE HEAT SHIELDS THAT YOU CAN'T SEE SO THEY WILL NOT DISCOLOR AT ALL. THEY ALSO CLAIM TO BE THE ONLY EXHAUST SYSTEM TO ACTUALLY INCREASE PERFORMANCE INSTEAD OF DECREASE. BUT MOST OF ALL THE SOUND IS AS GOOD AS YOU WILL HEAR ANYWHERE. THEY RAN ME ABOUT $400. YOU WON'T BE SORRY WITH THE HOOKERS.

 

go with the vance and hines.exhaust is a pretty easy install.you could do it your self and save big
dollars and if you get stuck on something you can ask someone here. Shovelhead Bob is a harley tech and is a great help to the the forum with tech questions.So give it a try its better than

If you go the above route, you will also need cough up some dough for the dyno tune to get the full performence from the SERT.

Another option is go with the V & H and get their product called the Fuel Pak. This is a great option if you are not planning on additional engine mods in the near future. Fuel management system that works with there pipes and the stage 1 kit

 

Hello; Just a thought you might consider V&H slip on. This will give you good sound and looks.Cheaper $. As others have said , do AC and fuelpak later. Easy install also. Good luck!
