Question Any suggestions on how to make V&H quiet baffles quieter ?

Cops cracking down on loud pipes around here & gave me a warning (ticket is just around the corner...) I'm running V&H BSS & Quiet baffles & trying to make them a few DB quieter.

I first wraped fiberglass cloth, then fibreglass insulation over the 2 1/2" perforated steel tubing at the end of baffles. Complete failure...all stuffing desintegrated in small pieces, out of the pipes, before the 2nd et of lights.....

Then tryed tightly wraped "00" steel wool. Sounds like what I'm looking for, lasted longer (15 miles ride) but steel wool ended up half melted & half desintegrated....

Look's like wraping something over the perforated steel tubing ain't the solution...... Anyone has something to suggest ?

Maybe your stock baffles will fit. That should put you legal.

i got to tell you man, i'm a state trooper here in Jersey and i can't possibly see myself giving someone a hard time because the pipes on their bike are too loud. there is so much crime and **** going on out there that it seems really silly for these cops to be bothering guys because your pipes are too loud.

well, i'm sorry to hear you have to deal with this none sense bro.

Go to McMaster Carr here's a link to the page you need to get to

http://www.mcmaster.com/#pipe-wrap/=1b2snq

about two thirds of the way down the page you will find this Ultra-High Temperature Foil-Faced Strips
its good to about 2,300 deg.
I wrapped one set of baffles and ran them for about 4 year's before I sold the bike and it was still good. I'm not sure but I think this is the same stuff we used to cover transfer ladles of molten iron when I worked the foundries. Is good stuff

check your state laws for the noise and for order for you to get a ticket they have to prove the deceble s in court to do anything so no cop is gonna do all the paperwork if you just say wut desible am i at if the law says a number in your state........your chances are that cop that pulled you over is just a dick a-hole
