I can tell you this, they better empty the R & D department out and throw everything out now!!!! cause harley is hurting big time... if it wasn't that everybody else is hurting as well they would have been scooped up already.

simple things can get more people to buy in 2010, like a v-rod muscle with a black engine instead of the ****@#$ 3 color grey engine they are using today. flat black street glide stuff like that....

the 96 is a great motor though......but yes i agree dont screw around claiming the bikes are blacked out when they are not....they need to make a true blacked out bike! I am sure they will stick witht the 96 ci for a few more years

What are you looking for in your engine?

not to sound off here, but engine size is nice but a HD engine will never give you the power and speed (stock) that a jap sports bike will with half the ci...and well jap vtwins aren't that much better to make it worth buying jap.

I am only curious and wondering which HD might fit your engine wishes...vrod will prob be the best power wise in stock

you are barking up the wrong tree if you are looking at engines......

anyway they just came out with the twincam 96 and they run hot so I doubt they will drop a 103 in there 3 years later

If this is a concern for you then maybe you will want to wait until July when the 2010 models are announced. The Motor Company keeps new models pretty secret until then, so I would imagine you will not get much info that is credible. You will here lots of rumors between now and July.

But like others have said, I doubt the 96 is going away anytime soon. It's only been around 3 years.

Point is, nobody who knows is talking. And those who are talking, don't know. H-D keeps it's new model stuff under layers of secrecy that would put the Mossad to shame. The stuff you're asking about won't be known until the dealer show this summer.

v- rod got the great power but is not a Harley engine damn porsche!
back in 2002 I was looking at the Harley and 88 inch just didn't did for me much, than I went and got road star WARRIOR 102ci great bike tons of power and sounds great to,with only pipes air cleaner and pc3 made 92 hp and 119lbtq,I love this bike, but is time for me to tray a Harley I think 96 inch will do o.k but 103 will do better.nothing like good tuned Harley sound.
by the way here is a little pic of my jap crap.
