Windshield Blues...
My brother bought a 2006 Heritage Softail (not the Classic version) and decided to add a windshield. Since it did not come with driving lights, he chose to buy the model that was for bikes without driving lights. Now he's wishing he had driving lights but is being told he'll have to change windshields to do that. Has anybody else found a way around this, such as 'custom cutting' his current windshield, or is it also shaped differently? We don't want to 're-invent' the wheel if it's already been figured out and done successfully.

Im not sure what the difference is between the windshields, but if it is just the plastic its easy to cut to fit or shorten. There are plenty of threads here on how to cut your windshield. Basicly use a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade. , tape the windshield on both sides with blue painters tape land cut slowly, use a sanding block by hand to smooth. Some people have posted that you can hit the edge with a propane torch to give it a factoryfinish, but I have never done this. It looks good if you take your time with the sanding.
Other choice might be to buy replacement plastic from memphis Shades, Rife, Cee Bailey ect
