Rear fender protection from seat?

I agree with others, get a fender bib. There are a couple of places that I am aware of:

Norm is making a custom bib for me now and is doing a great job (see my thread).

Does the bib have some material on the bottom side that will help protect? Can you keep it on even with the pillon in place?

The fender bib I am getting has a felt backing, which I believe most of them do. As my bike does not have a pillion I can not answer your question. You may want to e-mail one of the retailers I suggested and ask them.

I run my fatboy with the bib under the pillion. it is backed with felt. it is also to protect against bungies etc when I run with just the fender rack.

The dealer gave me some clear adhesive film they use on thier rental bikes to protect from scratches and stuff. Anyone use this stuff? I didn't really want something that was going to be stuck to my bike full time. Especially with the brand new paint, I really want to show off the finish...just not sure about what to use. I have some of those Harley soft whipes too, I thought about just putting one of those on top of the fender before I put the two up seat on..
