Call me crazy.... But i like the red pipes on heartlands bobber kit... But then again I like that freaky stuff... I guess it depends on the bike... Later
I remember somebody on this site posting pictures of heat shields that they had done with some type of spray for ovens?. Is able to take the temperature, and looked great beacuse it was flat back. Said it worked great and was a cheap do it yourself. Might of been in the sportster's section if I am not mistaken...........
just powder them... i shot mine over a year and half ago with gloss black and it still looks great (i used eastwood mirror black) they make high temp gloss black powder now so i would prob use that if i was to do it agiain but i have not had any issues

Question, did you have to heat tape any portion of your exhaust underneath to help with the heat? I got mine powder coated high gloss black with normal powder (hi-temp gloss is more of a satin, not a true gloss IMO) and I have been told different things about protecting it. Like that the air layer in between will keep it from melting but that I should still tape off the blued parts of my pipes... Though that would make the shield touch the heat tape...
