rocker wheels.. chromed

I live near the coast and get some serious salt air even with my Rocker garaged and covered in bedsheets. Every spring I can see lots of tiny smaller-than-pinhead dots on the chromework. My regular chrome cleaner won't move them but the Solvol Autosol in the tube works brilliantly on them. It's the only time of year I need to use the stuff. HD's chromework is generally excellent but it's common to see a bit of rust break through in subsidary bits like mirror stalks and thin chome covers. At least they are cheap enough to replace.
The wheels look good in the pics and a hell of a lot cheaper than replacement wheels at $2700 a pair. I agree that HD should have released the RockerC with chromed wheels, especially at the price it is!

I posted last year on the issue of chroming the Rocker wheels. In February of 08 I sent my wheels out for chrome. They ultimately sent my rims back because they had issues with the aluminum alloy of these wheels and the chrome didn't take to their satisfaction. Mine were in line to be chromed when they learned this on another set of Rocker rims, they sent mine back untouched.
I ended up spending 3K on new Renegade chrome rims and my stock rims are in a box. The Rocker wheel is a nice design and chrome is the way to go. I did not want to maintain the polished aluminum.
Only you can see the true quality of the chrome on your wheels so the decision is yours. Just wanted to share what I went through trying to do the same thing.
