The lever that is mentioned above is called a Throttle Mate. Your can find a link to it in the "Product Review" section. Wife and I both have one and they are great to quickly lock the throttle on those long stretches. You can use them with heavy gloves. At 12.00 they are a lot cheaper than a cruise control.

By the way, we are part of the yuppie scum that have cup holders on the bikes. When you make 175 to 180 miles between stops it's nice to have a little water. Guess when a person just rides from bar to bar they don't need them.

By the way, congratulations on your new ride. My wife now rides a Heritage Classic, but she really wants a deluxe.

Regards,

Bill

You are the kind of Yuppy Skum that give the rest of us a bad reputation.
If this was a serious post and not a joke, it might be your attitude that is giving you a bad reputation and not all of us "Yuppy Skum".

Regards,

Bill

Congradulations on the new bike. And welcome to the forum. Not all of us are dinks. You know who I,m talking about. Try the throttle mate. For 14 bucks what have you got to loose. While your at it, throttle rockers are nice too. Lets you loosen the grip a little on those long trips. I've got the left and right and sure do like them. Hard to get used to, but once you do they're real nice. I'm all about comfort.

Sounds like a good way to get going. My husband had something like that
on his old Yamaha 1100 but it was handmade.

I bought the tour pack and can't wait to take some long rides. My previous bike
, Yamaha VStar 650, was ok for a couple of hours (if you didn't like to feel
your hands) but not as stable or as comfortable.

I'd like the cruise control (or throttle mate) because it never fails that I have an itch right where
I can't reach it with my left hand!

Strange feeling pads, that magicly erase dirt. I can literally wipe my whitewalls with em, and they are back to new. No scrubbing, no chemicals.

Picked some up today...but whitewalls are still clean
looking forward to giving it a try.

Dealer thought I was a nut when I told them I use a swifter for
light dust on my other bikes. they are soft and hold the dirt.
