it has been proven that loud pipe do not matter in an accident. the excuse is "i did not see them" not "i did not hear them". with the suv and cell phone and maybe 10 speaker stereo they are an accident waiting to happen. maybe to a bike or maybe to a car. ever wonder when you took one way and return another just to see an accident that took place if you had taken the other way it may be you in it? i do all the time.

I personally have already proven a louder exhaust does prevent accidents.
Just today I threw on my blinker and didn't pull into the outside lane simply because I could hear but not see the bike in my blind spot of my SUV.

Come on. It only makes sense that something you can't see but can hear, tells you it is near. Why do you think ghosts say boo!

I can say that they do help, like on street parking and parking lots. I know for my self too that if I hear a bike I look all around to see where he is. It won't help for all but every little bit helps

I believe in particular it helps with the old folks who tend to sit lower in their cars and can't swing the old neck like they used to.

Let's not let this thread deteriorate into yet another "loud pipes save lives v. no they don't" argument. Let's get it back on point. Politicians are dumb azzes!

Get ready. There will be more and more states and cities like Denver and Myrtle beach. No EPA stamp on the exhaust you get a ticket.

I've seen a number of posts on motorcycle forums complaining about the tickets they got.

I gave up and will stay with stock on my new bikes.

Well I guess I should add you don't have to carry insurance as long as you don't have a lein on your vechicle. If your carry any sort of loan you have to have full coverage. However that leaves plenty of uninsured motorist running around in Sh*t boxes with no insurance.

Why do you think ghosts say boo!
Now that's funny!

Mark Twain said it well, "It's a good thing we don't get all the government we pay for."
