Default Why doesn't a Fatboy seat fit on my standard?

I picked one up and it doesn't quite fit. Leaves a gap between the seat and fender.
Are there any other Softail seats that will work on a standard (besides a nightrain)?

Not sure what years you're talking about, but I put an 07 Standard seat on an 08 Fatboy. Perfect fit.

I've ran a fatboy seat on my night train and it fit perfectly, sorry I don't have any suggestions other than the 2000-2005, and 2006- fender differences.

The gap your seeing, is it on the bottom of the seat at the point of fender contact? If so take the seat and bend it over your leg one direction or the other to suit your needs. Don't go crazy as it wont take much.

One year while in Daytona I was watching the guys from Mustang hustle seats on and off of bikes and saw the techs "tweak" the seats over their leg as needed. I have since done this to my own seats as needed.

It's where it meets the fender

Work it over you leg some, it will fit properly.

The various models from the same generation Softails fit each other. It is my understanding that when the Softails went to the slightly wider tire the seats changed however I can not confirm that first hand.

In your case I would think you would need to bend the back up in an attempt to close the gap in the middle. Don't be shy, try several different things until you find what suits your needs.
