Default Sundowner vs stock Softail Custom seat

So can anyone provide some comparison or feedback on this? I need to pick up a two up seat for when the little lady wants to go for a ride, and i love the looks of both seats, as far as two up ones go, but not sure which one would be better. Any insight would be helpful

Really....
Anyway, both seats are cheap, and made on a plastic pan with staples holding on the cheap vinyl.
If you want cheap, buy the SD. If you want cheaper, keep what you got.
If you want a quality seat, look at buying something from Corbin, Lepera or C&C.

I bought a sundowner for my wife, she likes it but it looks like crapola on my Deuce. I tried a friends Corbin seat it was too hard for my butt. I bought a Mustang 2 up, neither one of us liked it. I bought the sundowner and had gelpads installed now it's an all day seat, but it's still ugly.

I guess I should have added what ugly seat I bought in case my wife feels like riding. It's got the little back rest thingy attached to the seat so she feels secure.
I like it attached because when I get home, I can end the nightmare with a thumb screw. One screw, five seconds and all of that ugliness is gone.
God, those big seats are embarrassing.

actually i have the 09 NT. And let me clarify my statement on loving the seats, i dont really love them, but my options are kind of limited in regards to budget and selection. Was wondering if anyone has used both and which, in their opinion was better for all day riding. Not sure which would be cheaper though.

George C is right about getting a quality seat - Corbin, LePera, etc. You'll be glad about the few extra bucks. I like the king/queen look and Corbin makes a leather one with a removeable rider backrest and a taller passenger backrest. Here is a pic of mine.

I had a Custom Seat on my 06 Standard. Myself, I loved the seat, very comfortable for me. As far as for my wife, she did not like the seat for herself. She felt is was to narrow and not good support for her back.
So.......I now have a Mustang Seat and all is well.
Now saying all that, Make me an offer if you decide on a Custom Seat.
Pay for shipping and it's yours, Sissy Bar included. That's how it's held on.
And ride safe...

I feel your pain. I went through 6 seats before deciding on the Mustang. Here is a link to the write up I did on them, hope it helps.

I like the sundowner, well my wife does. I have sidekick for daily use. on trips and 2up riding can't beat the sundowner. I got it cheap off ebay.

I have a stock badlander seat on my Night Train for riding solo. I bought a Sundowner for when my wife or son rides with me. They love it. My wife rode for 8 or 9 hours on it with only the old school sissy bar (with no backrest) to lean back on and she didn't complain. Down side is it's big and ugly. And it scoots me just a little bit closer forward,

Chop On,
Robert
